| Premier Motorsports Competes
in Tripleheader Weekend in Virginia and North Carolina! |
| The Premier Motorsports team competed in a trio of Dirt Late
Model events in Virginia and North Carolina last weekend to open
up their month of May. The Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda,
Virginia kicked things off for the #22 team on Thursday night,
May 1. G.R. Smith was extremely quick all evening at VMS, but
bad luck relegated him to a twentieth place performance in the
$5,000 to win 'Paul Sawyer Memorial.' After rolling a tire off
the bead during qualifying and getting spun out battling for the
lead during the heat race, G.R. received a track provisional to
gain access into the A-Main. However, a couple of flat tires stopped
his march up through the field in the feature event and led to
his twentieth place effort.
On Friday, May 2, the action quickly turned to the Dublin Motor
Speedway in Dublin, North Carolina for a $2,000 to win show. G.R.
set quick time on the evening during qualifying, which earned
him the pole position for the A-Main. After leading the first
couple of circuits, a broken right rear shocked caused the Huntersville,
North Carolina driver to fade to a fifth place finish. The tripleheader
weekend was then capped off at the Cleveland County Speedway in
Lawndale, North Carolina on Saturday evening, May 3. G.R. timed
in eighth fastest in qualifying for the annual $10,000 to win
'Skyler Trull Memorial' before running second in his B-Main. The
driver known as the "Wild Child" eventually wound up
eleventh in the final rundown after 58 green flag racing laps
around the newly-renamed oval. You can view complete results from

| G.R. Smith in Action During
3rd Annual 'Colossal 100' at Lowe's! |
| The
Premier Motorsports team, with G.R. Smith behind the wheel of
their #22 Rocket / Clements entry, traveled to the nearby Dirt
Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina
on April 18-19 for the 3rd Annual 'Colossal 100.' The World of
Outlaws Late Model Series sanctioned the annual mega-event, which
boasted a hefty $50,000 top prize. G.R. timed in twenty-ninth
fastest in WOOLMS qualifying on Friday night, April 18, but was
later involved in a heat race incident that relegated him to a
disappointing ninth place finish.
When the action resumed on Saturday at the 4/10-mile speedplant,
G.R. took advantage of a provisional that was available to him
for being the earliest entrant into the 'Colossal 100' that did
not make the show. He started in the thirty-fifth spot and made
a few laps before retiring from the race in the thirty-sixth position.

| #22 Team Second at Dublin,
Twelfth at Fayetteville Over the Weekend! |
| G.R. Smith and his #22 team invaded the Dublin Motor Speedway
in Dublin, North Carolina and the Fayetteville Motor Speedway
in Fayetteville, North Carolina for a pair of Dirt Late Model
shows over the April 11 and 12 weekend. The doubleheader weekend
kicked off for the Premier Motorsports team on Friday, April 11
at Dublin and a $2,000 top prize was up for grabs. G.R. qualified
on the pole and despite several botched starts that sent him back
a row, he drove his #22 Rocket / Clements machine to a solid runner-up
performance behind winner Dean Bowen.
The
action then turned to Fayetteville on Saturday night, April 12,
as the Carolina Clash Late Model Series sanctioned a $4,000 to
win event. G.R. was leading his heat race until the steering locked
up, which caused his #22 entry to spin. After taking a series
provisional to start shotgun on the field in the A-Main, the "Wild
Child" put on a rim-riding show for the fans in attendance.
He got all the way up to the sixth position late in the race before
getting trapped behind a slowing car, which knocked him back to
a twelfth place finish. You can view full results from each of
these races online at www.dublinspeedway.com
